We Exist Because the Data Has Always Left Us Out

WOC Table is the first community-built platform for women of colour in Finland. We collect real experiences — careers, barriers, mental health, belonging — and turn that data into evidence that forces change. Because the people making decisions have never had access to our truth. Until now.

How This Started

WOC Table was founded by Asha, a British Indian woman living in Finland. Finland is one of the most progressive countries in the world for gender equality. And yet women of colour here are almost entirely invisible in the data. Their experiences are not being recorded. They are not informing policy. They are not shaping decisions.

Asha started by hosting small gatherings for women of colour in her local community. What she heard in those rooms made one thing clear. The stories women of colour carry every day — about their work, their sense of belonging, the invisible weight of navigating a world not built for them — were disappearing. No one was writing them down.

WOC Table was built to change that. Not by speaking on behalf of women of colour. But by giving them a platform to speak in a way that institutions are forced to listen to. Data.

What started as conversations in a room in Finland is now a growing movement. Built entirely by the women it serves.
